Summer Itch is a distressing skin condition also known as Summer Eczema or Seasonal Dermatitis.Summer Itch is a condition caused by a hypersensitivity to the bites of the Culicoides flies. After being bitten, some horses are allergic to a substance in the saliva of the fly, which causes a local reaction. This in turn causes intense irritation with severe itching, which the horse tries to relieve by rubbing and biting itself.

Posted by , 22-02-2012 14:38The heart is a very important and complicated organ. The heart is the central “pump” that provides the body with oxygenated blood. The red blood cells in the blood supply oxygen to all the tissues. The deoxygenated blood flows back to the heart. From there it is pumped to the lungs where it becomes oxygenated again. After passing the heart, the blood is pumped through the body again to deliver oxygen to all tissues and organs. When there is something wrong with the “pump”, the organs will not receive enough oxygen and this may cause a life-threatening situation.

That it can run and play freely and happily or that it is trudging, panting and moaning because it can’t keep up because of its weight?
